The day is over. You reach for the same familiar snack.

Perhaps you are hungry. Perhaps that moment also means comfort, a pause, or finally having some time to yourself. There is no need to assume one explanation.

If you recognise the frustration of knowing what you intend to do, yet repeating the same food choices, FOOD IDENTITY offers a way to explore the question: what does this food mean to me in this moment?

This short English-language book explores memory, emotion and familiar habits, and closes with seven simple practices for reflection. It is not a meal plan, a weight-loss promise or treatment for an eating disorder.

What you’ll explore in the book

  • Notice the patterns behind automatic food choices
  • Explore how memory and meaning can shape familiar habits
  • Recognise the invisible sequence between a trigger and a choice
  • Look at habit and identity without turning the process into another diet
  • Use reflection as a starting point for a different kind of change

Seven Simple Practices

The book closes with seven simple practices designed to help you bring an automatic pattern into view. They are not diet rules and they do not tell you what to eat.

The aim is simpler: notice first, decide later.

About the author

Bonifacio Sulprizio spent decades working inside the food industry, including senior roles in quality, food safety and plant management. One question kept returning: why do people often know what they want to change, yet continue to make the same choices?

FOOD IDENTITY grew from that question.
